About Bright Start Homes CIC
Bright Start Homes is an established Community Interest Company that currently works with several local authorities across the north of England providing supported exempt accommodation to some of society’s most vulnerable.
Our aim is to assist local authorities with their supported housing needs for individuals that require high quality care, support, and supervision. We have an operational portfolio, currently providing this type of accommodation to over 300 service users.
We also work in partnership with multiple Registered Provider of Social Housing to deliver these opportunities.
Our Focus
PARTNERSHIP WITH CARE PARTNERS
We specialise in collaborating with care providers who support individuals recovering from substance abuse and depression. As the demand for such services grows, our commitment to supply homes becomes even more crucial
In 2024 we began addressing this need by delivering 32 bedrooms across 7 properties. In 2025, we aim to at least double these numbers to meet the ongoing demand
The purpose of Bright Start
- To significantly contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals who are already disadvantaged and have substance misuse related issues by responsibly housing and supporting each individual
- To provide a service to the community
- By using a personalised approach to support, leaves individuals feeling more positive, better equipped to cope with everyday life and more able to live an independent life feeling safe in their own environment
- Conduct a comprehensive needs and risk assessment prior to accepting any clients into the service
- Obtain referrals from the Local Authorities, self-referrals, or from other partner organisations
- Treat clients holistically, ensuring they are engaged in tailor-made support to help clients deal with life’s challenges whilst looking forward to a positive future
- Provide housing when there are no other forms of accommodation available or when all other options have been exhausted
- Treat all Individuals with dignity, compassion, empathy, and respect
